High on the list of things to do for the Steering Committee will be the sourcing of sponsorship funds. As with all other related activities, Steering Committee Members usually undertake this task on a voluntary basis.

The ideal of course is for the Steering Committee to secure a Founding Donor for the Local Partnership, who'll support the initiative with funding as well as with some institutional support. Often a local business which is prepared to invest some of their time and money in exchange for the raised publicity, awareness and hopefully turnover, resulting from their commitment.

If you are not able to find one such main sponsor, then you must search for two or even three who are prepared to share the load.

Of importance here is for the Steering Committee to go out of their way to ensure the sponsor/s get the added publicity and benefit through their participation.
